Sim Race SA Announces 2017.1 Season Plans
Jason Holden-Jones, Sim Race SAs eSport Co-ordinator, has confirmed the plans for the 2017.1 sim racing season at Sim Race SA. From the recently published season overview (found here), the season will have a number of significant changes when compared to the 2016 season.
Perhaps the biggest change will be the element of progression racing, whereby sim racers will have to qualify for the SA simGT final by doing well in the qualifying races leading up to it. The fees structure has also been revamped to include a significantly reduced, once-off, flat minimum donation to kick off a qualifying campaign towards the flagship SA simGT Series. After one long 2016 season, Sim Race SA has opted to rather include two seasons spanning five months each.
The racing includes Audi TT Cup (SA simTT Cup), GT4 (SA simGT4 Series), Porsche Cup (SA simPorsche Super Cup), and of course GT3 style racing (SA simGT Series).
A championship for driver-swop endurance racing is also currently being evaluated (SA VEC).
All sim racers, rookie and experienced, are welcome to sign-up for the season by visiting the season sign-up page (found here).
