Jason Holden-Jones, Sim Race SAs League Co-ordinator, has confirmed the plans for the new 2021.2 sim racing season. The season will kick off on 5 July 2021 and end on 13 December 2021. Sim Race SA has selected ABBA Specialist Adoption and Social Services as it’s charity to focus on for the new season.
The 2021.2 season will see a number of changes. The SA simTC Series will run the iconic super touring cars from the early 2000s, and the SA simLegends Series will be a one make championship racing the legendary Austin Mini Cooper S. After a record breaking season in 2021.1 that saw 180+ entrants and over R37 000 raised for The Grace Factory charity, the SA simGT Series and SA simGP Series will continue into the new season.
The Mangement Team will see Ryan Hill, Sas van der Westhuizen, Nick Hodgson and Jason Holden-Jones continue their administrative duties, while Daniel Haynes and Alan Paterson continue their slick live streaming of the races on Youtube.
The new season will also see the continuation of the SA simRally Series, a cross-platform (PC, XBOX, PS4) championship using Dirt Rally 2.0.
