The Huntington’s Disease Association was founded in 1986 in the efforts to allow a better life for anyone affected by the disease. Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities usually during their prime years and has no cure. Huntington’s Disease is known as the family disease as every child of a parent with the disease has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the faulty gene.
