The first goal for the 2019.1 season is to qualify for each round of Sim Race SAs flagship championship; the SA sim GT Series Division 1, Division 1 is where the most amount of championship points are available. Championship points can still be earned from Division 2, and Division 3, rounds. Division 1 races will take place on Monday evenings, Division 2 and 3 races on the following Wednesday evenings.

SA simGT Series round format:
1 x Qualifying session (15 minutes)
1 x Race session (90 minute race)
1 x Mandatory pit-stop required

How to qualify for each SA simGT Series Division 1 round:
There are four ways a SA simGT Series Divsion 1 round can be qualified for:
- A top 7 result in a SA simV8 Series round.
- A top 7 (the next top 7 who have not already qualified) result in a SA simGP Series round.
- A top 3 result in the previous SA simGT Series Division 2 round.
- A top 5 result in a SA simGT Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) round.
Season Entry Fee:
A once-off and flat fee of R150.00 for the 2019.1 season (including all other championships) is required to kick-off a qualifying campaign towards the SA simGT Series.
