Sim Race SA establishes community international sim racing team: RSA Protea SimSports

Sim Race South Africa has launched its very own team to contend international sim racing competitions, and you could be a part of it. .  .

RSA Protea SimSports has already taken on its first endeavor into the international sim racing endurance scene, by entering both the LMP2 (#108 Oreca Nissan) and GTE (#170 Corvette) classes in the Virtual Le Mans Series (VLMS). With 40 teams and well over 120 drivers taking part, the VLMS is the official feeder series to the Virtual Endurance Championship (VEC). The VEC is an official rFactor 2 league closely based on the real-world World Endurance Championship (WEC).

To develop the all South African team further, and with plans to expand to a number of competitions; the team welcomes you to state your interest in contributing to the outfit, however big or small, by submitting the form at the bottom of this page. The team currently includes; Amrish Seunarain, Boyd Bryson, Gabriel Rossouw, Gerrit Crafford, Gert James, and Jason Holden-Jones.

After scoring a solid sixth position result in the LMP2 class, and 13th in the GTE class respectively, during Round 1 of the VLMS championship at Montreal, the team is well into preparation for the VLMS Road Atlanta four-hour on Saturday 17 December 2016 at 6PM (SA time). The up-coming race can be viewed live, or on demand, on’s Youtube channel.
