Breaking: Bryson wins SA simGT Silverstone endurance race

Boyd Bryson (#81 AGBS Nissan) won the 2015.2 SA simGT Series Silverstone endurance race. The race consisted of 40 laps with each driver having to do at least one mandatory pit-stop.

During the opening stages, a clever strategy by Bryson saw him race away from the 20 car strong field to pit early on lap 7. The early pit-stop meant Bryson had decided on a long second stint on hard tyres. The gamble payed off as Bryson emerged back in the race lead after closest rivals Jason Absmeier (#90 Revlimit Racing Nissan) and Basheer Jadwat (#83 Squadro GhostworX BMW) had conducted their pit-stops towards the half way stage of the race.

In the GT-AM Class, Brent Lindsay-Rae (#38 BrOz Racing BMW) took victory ahead of Mike McGeer (#69 M2Racing Nissan) and Gert James (#102 AGBS Nissan).

Gots to say, that wasn’t clever strategy, but an error on my part when I inadvertently forgot to change my tyres after qualifying. When I realised I was still on the soft tyres I had to decide how long to run on them while losing time to the guys chasing. The decider was Jason Absmeier passing me for the lead, so pitted immediately. The hope was then that my new tyres would last to the end. Which thankfully the rubbering in track helped with, and was able to hold off Jason to the end.
    Fantastic race. Thank you SimRaceSA!
