GTS Round 5 Race 1: Bryson dominates Monza opener
Boyd Bryson (#81 Xtreme Racing) won race one of the 2015.1 SA simGT Sprint Series round at Monza.
Bryson started well to out drag the best man in qualifying, Juan Liebenberg (#88 Phantom GhostworX), into the opening corner. Liebenberg, together with Chris Heyneke (#12 Heyneke Racing Team), fell back further down the grid after being forced into a half spin.
After falling back to fourth position, Jason Holden-Jones (#22 H-J Motorsport) immediately began an offensive, with Liebenberg close behind, on the two Prodigy Motorsport cars of Coenraad van Wyk (#11) and Philip Lategan (#14).
The race developed into a hard fought battle for third position to end with both Holden-Jones and Liebenberg passing van Wyk. Later Liebenberg and Holden-Jones would come together in an incident to let Heyneke through into third position.
Bryson was left unchallenged to secure his second win of the season ahead of solid drives by Lategan and Heyneke for second and third position.
