GTS Round 4 Race 2: Liebenberg takes second season victory at Mugello
Phantom GhostworX’s Juan Liebenberg won the second race of the 2015.1 SA simGT Sprint round at Mugello.
Jonathan Bentz (Squadro GhostworX) led for the majority of the opening lap only to, after running wide at Biondetti, fall to the back of the field. This gifted Liebenberg second position behind the new race leader Basheer Jadwat (Squadro GhostworX).
After five laps of hard and close racing; Boyd Bryson (Xtreme Racing), using better drive out of San Donato to earn the inside line for Materassi, finally passed Jason Holden-Jones (H-J Motorsport) for third position. Later a spin at Arrabiatta I put pay to any chances of a Holden-Jones comeback at Bryson.
Suddenly after a spin for Basheer Jadwat (Squadro GhostworX) at Arrabiatta II, Liebenberg found himself in the race lead. Jadwat, after rejoining close behind Bryson and just ahead of teammate Bentz, passed Bryson on the run to Correntaio.
Jadwat almost immediately closed the gap, however Liebenberg maintained position to claim his second victory of the season.
