SS3 Round 2 Race 2: Comeback win for Jadwat at Imola

Basheer Jadwat (Squadro GhostworX) started from the back of the field to win race two of the 2015.1 SA simSS3 Series at Imola.

An exciting start saw race one’s winner Mark Henebury (HRT) briefly snatch the lead from pole position starter Juan Liebenberg (Phantom GhostworX), however impressive race craft from Liebenberg saw him regain the lead just one corner later.

An impressive move by Yasteel Ragubeer (Phantom GhostworX) saw him pass Jason Holden-Jones (H-J Motorsport) around the outside line at Piratella, for fourth position. Later Ragubeer and Holdn-Jones would come together to include Bentz in an incident which allowed Chris Heyneke (HRT) to pass them all before Villeneuve.

By lap seven Jadwat had closed the gap to Henebury, at a time Henebury was making in roads on Liebenberg’s race lead. Then an error by Henebury at Villeneuve gifted Jadwat second position. With just three laps remaining a better run onto the main straight for Jadwat allowed him to out-brake Liebenberg for the race lead at Traguardo.

Jadwat continued a sterling drive to win race two at Imola.
