Steyn brushes Kotze aside for first victory
Markus Steyn with a last lap last do or die move brushed Stefan Kotze aside to claim his first ever victory of the SA simGT Challenge.
The 2nd race at the Istanbul Park proved to be extremely exciting with as many as 4 drivers leading race at various stages. Pole position starter Kotze found himself time and time again in the front after errors by Team DNF’s Chris Browne and Ghostworx-Echo’s Jonathan Bentz.
Early on Steyn abided to team orders letting by his Ghostworx-Echo teammate Basheer Jadwat into 2nd position, with the intention of enabling Jadwat to challenge Kotze for the lead. Unfortunately for Jadwat a spin later on put pay to his efforts to any chance of a victory.
